Experimenting with a known technique of film soup, the film rolls are treated with seawater collected from the beaches in Singapore which are then used to photograph the same beaches.
Part of an ongoing research that examines personal histories and collective kinships with the sea and the city.
The work was exhibited for Arus Balik – From below the wind to above the wind and back again at NTU Centre for Contemporary Art, Singapore in 2019.
